Cancun Trip Coming Up: Oleo Playa Preview

It’s been a few years since the first time I visited Cancun and I wasn’t disappointed.  It might not be hailed as the ‘real Mexico’ but for a relaxing break it can’t be beaten.

Last time we stayed at The Moon Palace Resort which was absolutely incredible.  It’s a gigantic place with multiple bars and restaurants and we had a wonderful time.  All Inclusive is the way to go in Cancun – the only thing better than getting served a Miami Vice directly to the pool is knowing that it’s not getting added to a bill at the end!

Although Moon Palace was incredible and I’d definitely go again it was also so big and busy that some of the charm gets taken away.  So this time we have opted for something a bit more boutique – the Oleo Cancun Playa Resort.  It’s a brand new hotel that is much smaller and intimate than the Moon Palace.

I have to say the pictures look incredible – a little piece of 5* luxury heaven.  There’s a group of us going away for my partners birthday and it promises to be an incredible trip.  Being right on the beach and waking up to the view of the ocean every day really should be special.

The hotel is still undergoing renovation so not everything will be finished but if the pictures are anything to go by that won’t matter.  The reviews on Trip Advisor that I’ve read are mainly very positive so I’ll look forward to reporting back after I’ve visited.

Although we’re going to have a relaxing time for the most part we’ve also got a day trip out on a boat.  Last time I went whale shark diving but I think I’ll pass on that this time!  There’s also a night out planned at the legendary Coco Bongo!

I’ll report back on the trip and the Oleo Playa on my return!  These photos are from the hotel website but I’ll be taking my own whilst I’m there!
